Dermalogica Medibac Special Clearing Booster is great for healing breakouts quickly and is especially useful when you have an event or an important date (the sheer thought of the event can cause you to break out) and thankfully dermalogica’s special clearing booster is a potent acne killing product that will quickly eradicate any pimple. Dermalogica Special Clearing Booster has been a wonder product of mine for how quickly I have seen it heal my client’s breakouts. Developed with Benzoyl Peroxide a 5% potent strength, it’s capable of killing off the p.acnes that thrive in the follicles that cause the red bumps on your skin, by reducing the painful swelling and redness. If you have a particularly bad pimple apply a good amount of it, to only the affected breakout when you go to bed, by the time you wake up the Benzoyl Peroxide would have reduced the swelling – it’s Absolutely Marvellous!
Special Clearing Booster Acne Fighting Ingredients
Besides the bacteria killing Benzoyl Peroxide in this formula dermalogica have included their exclusive Alginated Zinc Triplex which is in many of their dermalogica medibac products. Alginated Zinc Triplex is a combination of hydrolysed algin and zinc sulphate. These have a good antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect on your skin. It also interferes with the action of the five alpha reductase enzyme process and this has been shown to reduce sebum by approximately 26 per cent – fascinating stuff!
Tea Tree Oil and Zinc Sulfate are also used in Special Clearing Booster both for there bacteria reducing abilities. Tea Tree Oil also is a great anti-inflammatory, and Zinc Sulfate helps to regulate sebum production in the follicle.
Most acne products can be irritating on the skin with Special Clearing Booster it is to be applied only to the affected breakout, but with everything dermalogica designs they always add calming ingredients to help reduce any irritation to the skin and that’s no different with this product with the added Chamomile Extract and Calendula both incredibly soothing ingredients that helps to calm the inflamed breakout and reduce the size of the pimple.
The whole formula is blended in an herbal base of Lavender, Calendula, German Chamomile, Linden and St.John’s Wort. These purifying plant extracts contain essential oils and phytochemicals that not only soothe and calm irritated skin, but also dissolve impaction plugs while moisturising dehydrated tissues.
A great on-the-spot treatment for those annoying pimples that quickly heal breakouts without over-drying and irritation. This is one of those products you cannot live without if you suffer with breakouts (not recommended for sensitive skin types or anyone allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide).
